We are thrilled to welcome you to Empowerment Expressions, a unique space where the language of strength, resilience, and empowerment is spoken in multiple languages. We are proud to introduce the first greeting card and gift line dedicated to honoring survivors of domestic violence and those who have overcome trauma, available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Hindi, Korean, and Vietnamese.
Breaking Language Barriers, Building Empowerment:
Empowerment Expressions was born from a simple yet powerful idea - the belief that survivors of domestic violence deserve to be acknowledged and empowered in a language that resonates with their hearts. Our multilingual greeting cards aim to create a universal connection, offering support to survivors around the world and fostering a sense of community that transcends borders.
Raising Awareness, Illuminating the Crisis:
Domestic violence is a pervasive global issue affecting millions, yet it often hides in the shadows of silence. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. This equates to more than 10 million women and men annually, but we know that these numbers only scratch the surface (NCADV). Many survivors may not come forward due to fear, stigma, or lack of resources.
The financial toll of domestic violence is staggering, encompassing medical expenses, legal proceedings, and support services. The CDC estimates the cost of intimate partner violence in the U.S. to be over $5.8 billion annually (CDC - Intimate Partner Violence).
By shedding light on the scale of this crisis, Empowerment Expressions aims to contribute to the collective effort in addressing and preventing domestic abuse worldwide.
